Borrowing Materials

Library Accounts

All current students and employees of Kenyon have library borrowing privileges. Your Kenyon ID (K-Card) serves as your library card and you must have it with you to check out materials from the library.

Materials requested directly through the CONSORT, OhioLINK, and SearchOhio catalogs will arrive at the Circulation desk and you will be notified by email when they are available for pick up.

Renewals

You can monitor your library account and renew materials before they are due using My CONSORT. Log in using your name and the entire barcode number on the back of your K-Card.

Loan Periods

In addition to current faculty, staff, and students, library borrowing privileges are also available to Kenyon alumni, affiliated scholars, KAP students, retired employees residing within Knox County, and guest borrowers (some restrictions may apply).

Loan periods and fines vary depending on the patron type, the lending policies of each consortia and the material type. Visit the following links for detailed information:

Interlibrary Loan

Books, articles, and other materials which are otherwise unavailable at Kenyon, its CONSORT partner libraries, or the OhioLINK and SearchOhio member libraries can be requested through interlibrary loan.

Interlibrary loan requests are initiated by logging in to the Interlibrary Loan Portal (using your Kenyon credentials) and submitting a request form. Patrons will be notified by email when materials are available for download (article requests) or pickup at Circulation (book requests). Some article requests arrive within 24 hours, but please allow a minimum of 3-4 days for articles to arrive. Books can take 1-3 weeks to arrive on campus. Please note that interlibrary loan requests are processed Monday through Friday.

Article requests delivered electronically are often available with 1 to 2 days of request. Book requests may take up to four weeks to fill depending on availability. Renewal of interlibrary loan materials may be requested through the Interlibrary Loan Portal prior to to due date. All materials should be returned to Circulation.

  • cameras
  • external DVD drives
  • projectors
  • audio recording devices
  • graphing calculators
  • microphones

Extended-loan MacBooks are no longer available at the Circulation Desk. Students with pressing academic need for an extended loan should ask a faculty member to fill out this form on their behalf.
